Submissions of New Works

Lowbrow Opera Collective is accepting submissions for completed works on a year-round rolling basis. We review each submission and place it into consideration when selecting works for upcoming seasons, usually 1 to 2 years in advance of a production. All submitted works are kept in our archive for future consideration, unless you ask us to remove it.

In choosing which works to produce, we require that the work be by a living composer and be created after the year 2000. We also prioritize works that:

• tell stories that are relevant and interesting to contemporary audiences

• uplift the voices of communities that have been historically excluded from the operatic stage

• showcase the enduring impact of the art of opera

• are chamber works with limited cast size and have a piano reduction available
